As someone who has suffered from unexplained infertility, I am very interested in what my own load of perfluorinated chemicals could be.

And I just want to say, as far as the octuplets go, such high-order multiples are so rare, even despite the millions of us with infertility, because the goal of any treatments is healthy mothers and babies. Most reproductive endocrinologists who are managing an intra-uterine insemination cycle with 7-8 follicles growing will either cancel it altogether or convert it to an in-vitro fertilization cycle, where the number of embryos transferred abck can be controlled. It is through intra-uterine inseminations using strong, injectable gonadotropins to stimulate the ovaries that have created most well-known high-order multiples like the J & K Plus 8 Sextuplets. For IVF, women under 35, like this mother, will generally have 1-2 embryos transferred back. I've heard of instances where up to 4 embryos have been put back in a woman near 40-45, or with very poor quality embryos, but those instances are rare. To have 8 transferred back for IVF is practically unheard of and, if that is what occurred, irresponsible on the physician's part.
