Our Bodies, Ourselves: Pregnancy and Birth Resources

Walk into any bookstore, and you will find shelves of books on pregnancy and childbirth. Search the Internet, and you’ll find thousands of websites full of advice for pregnant women. Yet while a tremendous amount of information is available, its quality varies greatly. Finding information that is up-to-date, reliable, and grounded in a respect for the natural process of birth is often difficult.

The Childbirth Connection website is one source that meets all three of these criteria. It provides extensive content on topics ranging from choosing a provider to vaginal births after cesarean section. With summaries of the best available research about the safety and effectiveness of women’s options, and tips and tools for helping women make decisions, the website is an invaluable source of high-quality childbearing information.
